MotoGP Jerez 2026: Spanish Grand Prix at the Ángel Nieto Circuit

The roar of engines on the tarmac of the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit is one of the most thrilling sounds in world sport. Every spring, the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix turns Jerez into the international centre of motorcycle racing, and in 2026 it does so with greater force than ever.

From Costa Ballena, the circuit is just 25 minutes by car — a privilege that very few motorsport fans get to enjoy.

Dates of the 2026 Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix

The Spanish Grand Prix takes place from 24 to 26 April 2026 at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit. It is the fifth round of the World Championship and the opening round of the European leg — which raises the stakes even further for riders, teams and fans alike.

The weekend programme:

  • Friday 24 April: Free practice and practice sessions for MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3
  • Saturday 25 April: MotoGP Qualifying and Sprint Race
  • Sunday 26 April: Race Day — Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP

All tickets are valid for all three days of the event.

The Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit

The Jerez Circuit is one of the most beloved venues on the MotoGP calendar. At 4.4 kilometres in length with 13 corners, it is a technically demanding layout where precision is everything. Iconic sections such as the Dani Pedrosa corner (formerly Dry/Seca), the Ángel Nieto corner and the Lorenzo corner are the stage for some of the championship's most spectacular overtaking moves.

Opened in 1985 and a continuous World Championship host since 1987, the circuit has witnessed some of motorcycle racing's most historic moments. In 2026 it will celebrate its 39th consecutive Grand Prix edition.

The Spanish Grand Prix is the fifth round of the championship, arriving just as the World Championship is heating up and teams have already defined their season strategies. Classes competing are MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3 and the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup promotional series.

Tickets and Grandstands

Tickets for the 2026 Jerez MotoGP grant access across all three event days. The main options are:

Pelouse (General Admission): Free movement within the circuit without an assigned seat. The most affordable option and the one that allows most flexibility to watch from different parts of the track.

Numbered grandstands: Fixed seats with excellent views. The most popular include the X1 Grandstand (Start/Finish line), ideal for the start and finish; the Pit Lane Grandstand, overlooking the pit lane; and the Ángel Nieto Grandstand, with views of one of the circuit's most iconic corners.

VIP Areas: Access to exclusive hospitality suites and the paddock, with premium services.

Children up to 3 years old enter free (no seat entitlement, must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket). Children aged 4 to 13 receive a discounted rate. Residents of Jerez de la Frontera can apply for a 10% discount through the Town Hall website.

The Atmosphere in Jerez during MotoGP

The Spanish Grand Prix is far more than a race — it's a festival. Thousands of bikers from across Europe descend on Jerez during the weekend, turning the city and its surroundings into a unique atmosphere. The terraces, bars and streets of the historic centre fill with fans of every nationality.

The atmosphere inside the circuit is equally extraordinary: Spanish fans are among the most passionate on the entire calendar, and the noise and emotion at the Sunday race start is something that has to be experienced to be understood.

Getting There from Costa Ballena

The circuit is on the N-342 road, Jerez de la Frontera, approximately 25 minutes by car from Costa Ballena via the A-491 and A-4.

By car: The most convenient option from Costa Ballena. Circuit car parks fill up quickly — aim to arrive at least 2 hours before race time on Sunday. Additional parking areas are set up in the surrounding area.

By shuttle bus: Jerez Town Hall typically operates special shuttle services from the city centre to the circuit during the Grand Prix weekend.

Tip: Book accommodation well in advance. During MotoGP, hotel occupancy in Jerez and the surrounding area reaches near 100% months beforehand. Having our penthouse in Costa Ballena as your base is a genuine advantage.
